The notification we have received from Bury Council regarding upcoming works on the Goshen field carpark reads as follows:
The former William Kemp Heaton / Haworth Close site (adjacent to Goshen) is being redeveloped as you are probably aware. To serve the development it is necessary to link the redeveloped site in to an existing drain within the Goshen site. The chosen link point for the drainage is within the Goshen car park.
I am writing therefore to inform you of the works which it is expected will commence week commencing 4th of September and last approximately one month. Works are being undertaken by Eric Wright construction.
The agreed works will involve digging a trench, between the development site boundary and the manhole, installing a new drain, connecting in to the existing drain and then reinstating disturbed land. During the works the works area will be protected by suitable fencing and access for works will be via the development site. Disturbance to your clubs will be minimised but there will be a slight reduction in the number of car parking spaces available during the works. Car parking spaces will be reinstated once the works are completed.
Disruption will there be kept to a minimum but the works are necessary to complete the redevelopment of this brownfield site and bring it back in to beneficial use.
I did however want to let you know of the works in advance of their commencement so you could be aware of the works taking place and be assured they will be temporary and won’t, apart from the month long works period, affect the longer term use of the site.
